Junko Nishikawa graduated from the Toho Gakuen College Music Department and enrolled in the Soloist Diploma Course for several years. In 1998, she won the Grand Prix at the Superior Grade of the PTNA Piano Competition. She has also won numerous other competitions both in Japan and foreign countries. She performed Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Russian Federal Orchestra conducted by Vakhtang Jordania at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, and released a CD in the United States in 2003. In 2002, she was featured in the book "2000 Outstanding Musicians of the 20th Century" published by the International Biographical Centre. She has been highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also in many countries around the world, including Austria (Salzburg), Uruguay, the Philippines, Italy, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Romania, performing solo, as a chamber musician, and with orchestras. She also serves as a judge for various competitions.
